Rented Reservation able to be attached to membership?

Can we attach a reservation that was made by another DVC member for us (rented the points) to a DVC acct if we buy in? I have 8 nights booked in Sept through a member, and dh and I think we'll buy in between now and then. I was curious if it's possible to get it so I could pull it up on the website attached to our dvc info.

No, the reservation still belongs to the member who made the reservation.

No, the member who made the reservation retains ownership of the points (and thus the reservation) until you check into the resort. You wouldn't even be able to confirm the reservation with Member Services, as they won't discuss another member's reservations with you.

Once you become a member, you'll be able to do a point transfer once a year. In that situation, the other member would transfer the points into your account, and you would make the reservation yourself. You would then have full access to that reservation.

As noted, you would not be able to do anything with a reservation made by another member - but you can have MS link the two reservations together (if they are at the same resort, same villa size and same view). That way, at least you would not have to move when one reservation ends and the other begins.
