After 2 months of research, we finally decided on a condo!
Yay! So I thought...

I just found out that the home owner does not have bedrails, the mgmt company does not rent / provide them.

We have 2 small dd's who have to have a bedrail on the twin beds they will be using.

We are flying, so I'm not sure I can bring one from home.

I guess I could try taking ours apart, and putting it in pieces, inside our luggage. Maybe stopping by the local walmart (since we are getting groceries), and buying them there? I just hate to buy them and have to end up leaving them there at the end of the week.

What if the walmart there doesn't have any in stock?
If I did buy them, do you think I could take them apart, put them back in the boxes, tape the 2 boxes together and check them in a
"piece of luggage" with our airline on the way home?
They come in long thin flat boxes, and don't way a whole lot?

Any other suggestions?

Will they deliver to Windsor Hills? I know they are a little different, since there is no "central reservation office" for them to drop off / pick up the equipment.
Maybe I should give them a call.
Thanks for the info!

Definately A Babys Best Friend. They delivered to our offsite villa at a time that was convenient for us, and picked them up too. :thumbsup2

We just move a chair or two to the side of the bed.

good luck finding something.

If you cannot put the mattresses on the floor. Try pushing a spare blanket or pool towels under the edge of the mattress nearest the floor, hopefully you can push one side against a wall. That way it should "tip" your child back into the bed.

You could ask the owner if they would be willing to get a couple for you and that you would be happy to pay a reasonable rental fee (which would go towards the cost of purchasing the items and be an additional amenity for the owner to offer)

ABBF is also great for those extra items that your owner may not be able to supply.

I have packed things up to take back home with me and it is time consuming (getting packaging materials etc) and some airlines are charging extra baggage fees.

Another option is to purchase them at Walmart - they are pretty cheap and then donate them to a charity - there must be a charity in the area that would come and collect them following your stay.

We have used TWO different solutions in the past ... (kids are now 14 and 8 - but we did this a lot). One ... we would push the bed against the wall and then simply use the dining chair(s) against the other side - a pillow or folded blanket against the chair for padding. That worked fine. Two ... we actually made a little "room" on the bottom of the closet. (You could still "hang" your clothes.) We would keep one of the sliding doors completely open, and make it like a little sleeping-bed area - they LOVED it -- sort of like their own little hideaway. Their little body barely went down further than the open door area anyway! PLENTY of room. And so cute. They were so excited to go to their little spot to sleep. AND it's out of the walkway!

NOTE: I also always bring a plug-in nightlight. Those rooms get very dark when the lights are turned off. They love that too!
