Does Magic Kingdom still use the hard blue strollers from a few years ago, or have they switched to a different style?

TIA,
Risy

MGM has different ones that are the jogger type. Im in the minority but I like the hard ones better:upsidedow

I do too. My kids have never seemed comfortable in umbrella type strollers.

The reason I asked is that the 2004 Frommer's Unofficial Guide to WDW says

"Disney has replaced the ancient blue clunkers at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom with brand-new strollers."

Somewhere else I read that they now recline. But I have not spoken with anyone who can confirm either! Too bad.

they definitely did NOT have new strollers at any of the parks upto the 15th December, just the same sort that they have always hard, hard plastic in MK, EPCOT and AK and the jogger style in MGM.

one new thing, I did see what looked like Rentals being used at Downtown Disney.

The old strollers at MK were also blue. I remember using one for a 2-year-old 20 years ago. They were like most strollers back then--reclining, fold back sun-shade, basket underneath. I liked them fine--you could recline it and seat two kids!

I think that's old information referring to the old metal and plastic strollers at MK. They were very low and difficult to push, not to mention the front was extremely dangerous if you got clipped!

The newer strollers don't recline but for a child over 3 (maybe even 2) they are great, IMHO.

check out allearsnet.com and hit on the stroller faq section.
She has up to date pictures and prices on all the park strollers.

We used a rental stroller at Downtown Disney in August 2002.

The ancient blue strollers tha Frommers mentioned were really ancient. They looked old when we used one 16 or 17 years ago.
But, (as other posters mentioned) they have had the blue ones that are pictured on allearsnet.com for a few years already. The only thing that is different compared to the allears pictures is that the single strollers at the Studio don't have a single large front wheel. They have the same small, swivel wheels on the front that the picture of the double strollers from the Studio show (that change was made about 2 years ago).

Disney has replaced the ancient blue clunkers at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom with brand-new strollers.
I think Frommers should have been a little more specific!

The current blue strollers are obviously the only ones I have ever used. I never looked at a stroller until I got married and actually needed one! Hard to believe they consider these "new".

Thanks again for settling that.
