Hi, does anyone know what rental agency would be the closest to the Royal Plaza in DTD?
I need a car to get from MCO to the hotel. I will be returning it the same day. I am thinking maybe a taxi might be a better option but haven't decided yet.
Any opinions out there?

Thank you

shuttle buses are cheaper (and in my opinion) better.

there is a rental car place in Royal Plaza (or was).

most rental car are available at the airport - or just off of it.

if you family is 4 or more - I would look at towncars - they have a grocery stop which can save you money in the long run.

Dollar is in the Holiday Inn but I understand they're closed for renovations.
Alamo is in the Wyndham, Budget has a desk in the Double-Tree and I beleive the Hilton also has a rental desk. I towncar should cost around $50 and would be easier than a rental car.

Hotel Royal says they have a Budget desk but it doesn't show on Budget's website. You might call the hotel directly and see what they suggest.

Thank you for your quick response.
Is there a shuttle bus from the airport to DTD? I wasn't aware of that.
There are only two adults and we plan on only using the rental to get from the airport and then back again. No need for a towncar service. We figure we can cut that price in half with a rental. We will use the buses from the hotel to the parks while staying there.

Between the taxes and fees the rental won't be as cheap as you think. Mears runs buses from MCO to the resorts. Two adults is $58 plus tip R/T. A towncar should cost around $100. I'd rent a car from the airpot if you want to stop in the outlet malls or make a grocery stop.

all the shuttle buses go in this area - it is close enough to WDW.

they are cheaper than either taxis, rental cars or towncars.

you might have to ride with other people - but hey that bring down the cost.
