We'll be going to unversal for 2 days and if we can disney for one, I only want to go back to the kingdom, hubby and 2 boys want the wilder side from universal but they still have to pacify mom by going to the kingdom. ..lol.. anyway I've been looking at indian creek but now I'm thinking that may be too far to drive, any suggestions?

There are no rental homes close to Universal because it's in Orange County and zoning laws don't allow for them. That's why all the rental homes are in Kissimmee, Davenport, Clermont etc. (Osceola, Polk, Lake counties) Indian Wells may be a little closer but it's also an older subdivision with a lot of full time residents and not many rentals. You can find condos but no pool homes. Vista Cay has condos and is on Universal Blvd near the Convention Centre. http://www.vistacay.com/
You can find rentals on vrbo for Orlando area.

As Sympatico says Orange County do not zone for Short term rentals so you may be better to look in the Kissimmee area. Davenport and Clermont are further away from Universal - more on the Disney side of things. Try the homeaway site as well as vrbo :goodvibes

thanks a bunch, that's what I was kinda figuring after reading everyone post and looking at the map that was posted on here, we definatly want a pool, I was looking at vista but after seeing some of the prices I realized we could get a regular home and have a pool and spa, it's what we want :) I did a mapquest from Indian creek and it say about 30 minutes to universal, doea everyone agree with that or is it longer. TIA

Not sure how accurate that is - suppose it depends on the traffic :) We did stay on Indian Creek a few years ago but only went to Disney on that trip. From Coral Cay which is in Kissimmee it takes approx 25-30 mins but once again the traffic will have a say in that :goodvibes

We stayed at IC in March and went to Universal. You can easily get there in under 30 min if I - 4 is moving the way it's suppose to. As far as the distance goes it's very doable but it's the traffic that might slow you down. With no traffic you could do it in 20 min. but that's in a perfect world.

I agree, you can get to Universal in 25-30 mins. We usually go for opening time, so the roads are not that busy.

I have tried looking for alternative routes to Universal, but the I4 seems to be the only real way to go.

We've stayed at Cumbrian Lakes off Poinciana Blvd and that is about 20 mins from Universal. Very easy to get on I4 and be there in no time.

Why not do a split stay? Some days in a pool house and some onsite at Universal. Their hotels are so beautiful and your room key works like an unlimited fast pass. Just flash your key and head to the express line as often as you want. Once you try it you'll be spoiled rotten. :cloud9: Ds11 and I literally walked right into our seats on the Hulk 4x in a row.
Our boys LOVE the Hard Rock Hotel and it's only a 5 min. scenic walk to the parks or a relaxing water taxi. All are 4* hotels on par with Disney deluxe so even just a few nights adds up but it's really worth the perks, esp. w/AAA or AP discount. You get the FOTL perk from the morning of check in day until park closing on check out day, so even just 1 night onsite gets you 2 days of FOTL.
Check out the Universal boards here on the Dis for more info.

ps. We've stayed in Rolling Hills and Windsor Palms and I agree if you hit rush hour traffic, it's an easy 40 mins to US.
