Forgive me, I realize there are variables here but, for a round trip from MCO to WDW(mid size car), maybe a grocery stop or 2, and returning it with a full tank-can someone give me a ballpark at what I'd be spending in gas money?

thanks

Not knowing the total miles expected or predicting gas prices. I'd say figure on about $40. That assumes you drive only from MCO to hotel and places listed and use an entire tank of gas. Assuming gas prices are about $2.75 and a 14 gallon tank, that puts you at $38.50.

Probably a good guess. For a range, a low could be $20 and a high of $40.

I very seldom use more than $20-$25 worth of gas for a trip and I usually drive everywhere on site, and even make a trip or two off site.
Usually have a midsize or compact.

We rented an Escalade this past September. We used 1.25 tanks. This included 4 round trips to MCO (picking up relatives), driving to almost every park (exception was EPCOT) and few trips offsite to dinner and picking up relatives at an off-site resort.

The Average MPG was 13.7 and we used about 27.5 gallons for a total distance of about 377 miles driven. We paid about $2.89 a gallon as well, so a total outlay of about $80.00.

A midsize car should get about double the MPG and unless your driving about the same number of times back and forth to MCO you should expect at most, 1/2 the cost.

No trip to the space center. No trip to Universal. No trip to Sea World. Round trip from MCO to WDW should be under 50 miles. Your total mileage should be under 100 miles. 20 mpg. You'll use around 5 gallons. Should be well under $20.

we spent $33 on an 8 day trip in September. Back an forth daily to the parks, sometimes multiple parks a day, couple trips to Walmart and the outlet mall, and a trip up to the Florida Mall. Oh, and getting a little misplaced on the way from MCO to Pop, so a slight detour there.

One note, we rented from Dollar, and they said we had to provide a receipt from within 10 miles of the airport showing our final top off. That was where the $3 came in, we filled up most of the way near Walmart the previous day.

We rented a standard SUV in Aug. We drove from MCO to Universal then when we left Universal for Disney we drove to the food store and then to Disney. We used the car to get from the Boardwalk to Animal Kingdom. We filled up at the Hess Station by the Boardwalk before returning to MCO and we put in less than $10. Price was aroun $2.65/gal. If you fill up at Disney are on the way back you won't have any problem since the tank will still be full.

we rented from dollar in san francisco and they said that too, but they never asked to see the receipt. did someone actually ask to see yours?

I just got home yesterday. I rented an Impala from the airport. Used it for grocery run, drove it around WDW a little and back to the airport. Only used about 1/4 tank, spent $11.59 on gas, filled up on World Drive before going to the airport (National never asks for a receipt). Drove about 90 miles.
