Rental companies and driving records?

Hello, all. I have a reservation with Alamo for Mid May. 8/04 I had a reckless driving. They say on their site that they won't rent to me, but is this true? Do they really pull the driving records of all their renters? If so and they deny me to rent with them, will my wife, who has a learner's permit be allowed to rent instead?

I know for sure that your wife wouldn't be able to rent, you have to have a valid driver's licence. As far as having a clean record, I wouldn't risk getting there and not having car, so I would either make a back up reservation with someone else, or else call Alamo and find out for sure before you go.
