Does anyone know how much we can expect to pay.

We are on a flydrive using a car from dollar, we have declined their insurance and have bought a annual insurance from insurance4carhire.com

We know it states that it is not recommended for flydrives, DH spoke to the company who asked if we had been before.

The company sold us the policy seen as we had been there before and know how dollar works.

So we still need to pay the state taxes, and would like to budget for this.

Or would it be better to use a different company to hire a car, (WOULD THIS COST MORE OR WOULD IT EVEN OUT).

Thanks for any info.

I used an annual car insurance policy 3 times with Dollar twice in Orlando and once in California. The taxes can depend on the airport but the last time we did this in Orlando 2 years ago the taxes cost £74 on a mini-van for 2 weeks.

I would guess the state taxes etc will be the same whomever you rent with?

I'm only guessing though. Can anyone else confirm for sure?

We are using this policy in May and again September we have booked with www.alamo.com not the Uk site. The airpot fees ect are already paid so you don't have to pay anything at the counter, you can nearly always get a dicount code for alamo. We have a minivan in sept for 2 weeks for £206.

Er no, since they are a percentage of the price. Differing costs for car hire will therefore produce differing amounts of state tax.

taxes etc, for our, almost 3 week trip last year, were around £35.
Through Dollar.

£35 sounds good to me!

Are there any other charges that Dollar will hit me with.

I know we have to get a car seat budgeting for around $5 a day

Well, that goes without saying :confused3

The question was whether different companies charged different amounts of tax. The percentage remains the same.

Dollar 'held' $1500 (I think) on my cc but at no time did it show on my statement :)
