How difficult is it to rent a car for a day or two during a stay at WDW? I believe rentals (company?) are available at the Dolphin and the Car Care Cener. Is that correct? Is there somewhere to read info on these?

It is not difficult at all. The companies at the car care center and Dolphin are Alamo/National. I would expect you could read about them on the rental companies' website.

Many of the downtown disney hotels offer car rentals. However, they do not all had the same one. When we stayed at The All Stars Music about 5 years ago we were able to pickup our rental car from the Grosvenor near downtown disney. I don't think they offer the same rental company now though. You will have to check the individual rental car companies to find out where they are located or call 1800 numbers.
