Rental Cars from the Dolphin

Can you actually pick up a rental car at the Dolphin? We have rented from MCO and dropped off at the Dolphin before. Do you need to have a prior reservation or can you make one from your hotel or even walk up to the desk at the Dolphin? Do they have cars available there? I'm thinking ahead to our trip in the summer and what happens if we decide we want to make a day trip off site or run to the grocery store. Thanks for any info.

I would reserve one if you want to be sure, but yes, you do get your car at the Dolphin. The valet service actually brings it around for you after you do the paperwork at the desk.

Be careful though - the desk has limited hours. I learned this to my chagrin last year. Didn't know desk closed at 5 when I arrived at 5:45. There was a card that had me call the CCC and I had to get shuttled over there. I had made the reservation through Orbitz and because I picked the car up ata different place, the guy could have charged me more than double for the car. I objected on the grounds that no one told me the desk closed that early. The guy gave it to me at my reserved rate.

Hours at the Dolphin counter are 8am-4pm. If dropping off before 8am or after 4pm, just leave it with valet. They will give you a hand-written receipt.
