Rental Car?

So, after a fabulous first visit to DL summer 2015, we are planning (way) in advance for a summer 2017 trip. This time, we want to spend the first 4-5 days at DL and then rent a car and explore more of southern CA for another 4-5 days. Is Alamo the only rental car agency at DTD? If we rent on the last day, can we park at DLH or GCH for free if we are staying there? Or, should we just rent the car at the very end of the last day and move to our next hotel? Will bell services store our luggage for the day at DLH or GCH? Lastly, any recommendations on area to stay at for the second part of the trip? We'll probably be doing the touristy things around LA and maybe a beach day. Thanks!!

There are other rental agencies in the area but I think Alamo is the only one in DTD. I also don't think there is any such thing as "free" parking when staying on site. Whether you are onsite or not it's $18 a day. Any hotel will store your luggage when you check out if you need them to and then pick it up when you leave that day.

I have no experience with LA hotels so can't help you there.
