Rental Car

We are staying at BLT this april.We have an opourtunity to stay an addtional night
I have a rental car reserveda t a good rate.I just called and was told that the rate will be an addtional 400 dollars for the one extra day!!

I know that when ever I rent a car there is always a addtional day charge on the rental agreemant.
Does anyone knwo how i can find out that charge?I cannot believe it will be 400 dollars!!
I am in limbo since i have not picked up the car I can only get a new quote for the new dates.

I would keep trying to check rates as that is outrageous!!! Who are you going through?

We use National (Emerald Club and their Emerald Aisle service) and find codes all the time through mousesavers. Once I book, I keep checking our dates and if the rate goes down, I re-book and cancel.

For our Dec trip, I probably changed the reservation at least 5 times from October until we went and got the rate down to $70 from $120 when I started.

Well, the extra day isn't at $400. It's the cost of the whole rental with the extra added at today's price. When you called they re-ran your reservation at current pricing and you essentially lost your old rate. They can't (probably really "won't") just add more days to an existing rental at the old rate.

I think that your best bet is to look for a code or a coupon to use now to get the price down or look for specials as you get close to your pick-up date.

You are corrrect they told me that is the rate at yesterdays rates
It was a catch 22 they kept telling me the extra day is on my rental agreement
i do not have one as I have not picked up the car.

Can you see your reservation on line?

If you did not actually go ahead and extend your reservation then it should be the way it used to be at the old price.

You should be able to get a written confirmation in some way. This is where being able to make and see reservations on line helps greatly.

when i look online i only get the dates type and total cost.
Not a detailed break down.
that i swhat i was calling and asking for
I think i will take my chances I expect that the extra day will only cost me
the daily raste i already have plus a small extra fee.

Online is great but it makes it difficult to get a real answer sometime

You should be able to turn it in 1 day early too. Check to see if there is a location near DW, and turn the car in a diff location and then take ME back to the air port.. assuming that is where you are going. Places usually charge 50$ for airport drop offs but the other way around is free. Also call the location a few times seems way to stupid to be 400$.

I do think that my extra day charge will be a reasonable percentage of my reserved per day rate.

If not
You just gave me a back up plan.
We are flying to Tampa so ME is not an option.

Worst case.
I can return the car on the orig return date but to WDW location.
Pay extra fee 40-bucks or so
Then rent a one day econ for ride back to TPA

That will still cost me about 90 total but better than 400!
