Rental car questions

Hi everyone,
I am excited for my first trip to WDW but I am having trouble choosing a rental car service. I am 23 yrs old and am considering to purchase the damage waiver from the company. I would like to rent it straight from the airport unless there is a shuttle to the nearest car service. Trip info: aug 11- aug 16, only compact or economy class needed, i do have amex,mastercard, and visa cards( i heard about there damage waiver benefits for renting a car* all free).Here are my options so far...

-Budget through USAA- at the airport $449, at double tree location $315
*21-24 driver fee waived
*with damage waiver from usaa
( the double tree location would like to take a shuttle straight from the airport not from lynx due to estimated 1 hr travel)

- Alamo through orbitz- at the airport $215 ( damage waiver included through access america)
-- through priceline ( damage waiver with priceline) $160
* does not say if it included 21-24 driver fee estimated 150.00 extra for the trip

-Enterprise- at airport $246 , with DW $368 ,
* with 21-24 driver fee
*possible hidden fees?? i got the quote straight from the airport.



any help or coupon code would be helpful. Thank you.

There's no free shuttle from the airport to anywhere near Walt Disney World. It's about 30 miles. There's the Mears Shuttle; it's about $19 one way, you just walk up to the counter on the ground level of the airport and arrange to go wherever you need. Frankly, since it's shared transportation, I can't see it taking a whole lot less than the hour Lynx would take - for ten times the price.

Forget Orbitz/Priceline. Go right to Alamo's website and look at its rental policies to see its restrictions for your age group. If the site can't match those prices, okay, then go back and book the car through a third party. With Priceline, is that an absolute price or is a name-your-own price? If it's the latter, you may have already entered into a contract and this whole discussion is moot.

Enterprise isn't actually at the airport, it would require a shuttle.

If you get a price from a third party travel site like orbitz, not name you own but what they quote, call the rental car company itself and ask them to beat it.


If you are staing at a WDW hotel you can ride Magic Express for free.

You only have to have a rental if you are going off property, or need it to get from and off property hotel to the parks.

Yes, your credit card most likely has insurance, the rental car company will most likely try to talk you into buying thiers, when you in fact don't need it.

Personally, I like Alamo. Cars are parked in the garage by size/class and you pick the one you want.

HI everyone:
Update- currently bidding on prices on Priceline. Due to my age any vehicle rental = extra $150!! However, i could only bid once a day and so far i have had no luck. I am leaning towards alamo which is in terminal and good prices.
Has anyone used rentalmomma.com? I found a coupon but was wondering if they are safe to use. The alamo website states you need to bring the coupon with you.

It is very common to have to pay a surcharge to rent a car if you are under 25. Is there anyone going with you that is 25 or older?
