some of you no doubt have more experience with this than we do... Thanks to the unbelieveable deal on airfare we got  , we now need to rent a car. There are six of us, so it's either a Mini van, or a Premium. Most companies say that thier premium level vehicle will seat six, and they are cheaper than a van. Has anyone ever rented a premium car for six? It's a Poniac Bonevile or similiar. We don't plan on doing a great deal of driving while there, so being a little crowded won't matter, plus our kids are 15 (and not big for his age) 13, 12, and 1, so they don't take up adult sized space.

Enterprise is the cheapest, but they wont guarantee a six passenger car in this class. Any advice? I'd hate to get there and have to mail one of the kids home because they won't fit in the car! ;)

Personally I'd spring for the minivan, just b/c it may seat 6 people, but will it seat 6 people and their luggage?

when will you be going?
you may want to look into renting from Car Care Center.
We always rent from the airport, but after reading the discussions, I check alamo and renting from Car Care Center, it is $233 for 8 nights for a minivan, it is cheaper than a full size car. I use entertainment coupon and Walmart code from mousesavers.com

We will arrive after 8:00 pm, with ME there is no reason for us to get a car from the airport. It is just that DH is not happy without a car for one night.

The Premium car will probably not work for you. The most you can fit in these cars are 5 people, esp. when you have to use a car seat for the one year old. The cheapest rates we have are through Thrifty with a Sams club discount coupon. Their code is PC SAMS if you want to check out there rates. Also check out Southwest's website. They have some exclusive deals to Florida right now. I believe it was under the Feature Destination section. You don't need to book airfare to get the rates though.

Hope this helps, Melissa

Do you absolutely need a car or would you be better off using Disney's Magical Express? I know it's new but they seem to be working the bugs out of the service. There have been more good reports than bad lately.

We are staying off site so yes we need a car, plus we plan on doing a few non-Disney things while we're there (heresy, I know, but hey there is life after the mouse :) ). We travel pretty light, so I'm not too worried about luggage room. Friends of ours rented a premium car for the six of them, and they are all adult size, and loved it. Might be a nice break from driving a minivan all the time. I just wondered if anyone else has done this. Some car companies say they will seat six, and some say five, so I guess it depends on the type of car you get. It is quite a bit cheaper than a van, so we'll keep looking into it.

Several years ago we had two families travelling together. Four adults and two teen-age girls. I had rented a Buick Park Avenue and we had no problems. We even went to a Shuttle Launch and had about three or four hours in the car (round trip) and there were no complaints about being too crowded.
