Rental car question--St. Thomas

Has anyone rented a car on St. Thomas to take to St. John? Is the ferry at Red Hook a car ferry? If so, what are the rates, and are the roads good? We would like to go to Cinnamon Bay and explore alittle. Bev

You may get a response on this. There is a DISer who has done this who responds to these questions. Yes, there are rental car offices near the dock in St. Thomas. I know there's a Budget and I believe there's also an Avis.

The primary ferries between St Thomas and St John are passenger-only, but there are also car ferries.

Just remember, they drive on the "wrong" side of the road in st thomas
it you know what I mean...You may want to consider this before you rent
car. Gary
