If we pick up a rental car on Disney property and then drop it off at the airport is there an addiitonal charge for that?

I'd guess there would be. We've priced out pickup/drop offs at different locations in the past and it was a huge charge (like hundreds of $$) more than the same location for both.

I recently picked up a rental car at MCO and dropped it off at the Embassy Suites on I drive and there was not an extra fee, so I would at least check into it.

Depends who you rent from and their stock of cars. If they need to get cars to another point then no charge. If they don't need cars somewhere else they charge for their inconvenience.

We picked one up at Amtrak and dropped it off at MCO. No extra charge. I think it was Hertz?

We have done this a bunch. Only one time was I ever not charged a fee, all the other times it was about $50.

I believe Hertz is the only company that doesn't charge the one way fee nowaday. Dollars didn't charge until the policy change. Check on your reservation page and see if it is listed. If not so, and the charge is added at the time of rental, you can always ask for price adjustment with your confirmation page printed.

i just booked with alamo last week pick up at disney drop off at MCO no extra charge

I just did this last week. I picked up at Tampa airport and returned at MCO. I'm pretty sure I wasn't charged extra, I never saw an added charge on the paperwork. I rented through Alamo.

You might not "see" the charge but generally your rate is higher.

I think it depends on the amount of surplus cars available at MCO. My DH and I work for the airlines and flew down to Disney a few weeks ago and the night before we checked flights to get home since we fly stand by and they were Way oversold so we looked at our options to rent a car since we live in the Florida panhandle. It's an easy 6 hr drive but we were pleasantly surprised that a one way car rental from mco to the airport close to us (eglin air force base) was $12 plus taxes!! We got an intermediate size car. With a tank of gas to top off and taxes it was something like $39.

usually this is true but I specifically priced it out both ways. Reason being is its the first time for my nephews and I want to ride the Magical Express with them. Called Alamo and for August there was not price difference to pick up in WDW car care center and drop off @ MCO
