Traveling first week of March.
Spending one night at Universal (on site).
Then heading to the Waldorf Astoria near WDW.
Is there a car rental agency which serves both Universal on site hotels and the Waldorf Astoria (or the Hilton next to the WA)?
Other recommendations??

Transportation we'll need:
-Fly in Saturday early and take taxi to Universal hotel.
-Walk/take boat to Universal parks from onsite hotel
**Pick up rental car on a Sunday afternoon at Universal and drive to the Waldorf.
-Keep car overnight at the Waldorf (pay for parking)
-Drive to Legoland early Monday morning
**Return car when we get back from Legoland in the afternoon.
-use hotel shuttles for WDW for rest of vacation
-take taxi to airport on Saturday

**OR take taxi from Universal to Waldorf Astoria on Sunday. And just rent the car early on Monday, go to Legoland and return it in the afternoon.

This is the first time staying off site using airport taxis and renting a car (could only convince dh to go to WDW twice in one year if we stayed off site and tried other Orladno attractions...) We've always done DME and onsite resorts so I'm flying blind on this.

I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!!

At Universal, Hertz is at the Portofino Bay Hotel, Royal Pacific Hotel, and Hard Rock Hotel.

At Bonnet Creek, Hertz is at the Hilton Bonnet Creek and The Waldorf Astoria Orlando.

When you factor in the cost of a taxi to and from the airport....most likely it will be less expensive to rent a car for your entire stay. You will have approx $100 in taxi fare. Also, Hertz tends to have the highest rates of anyone. So you will likely pay a high rental fee for the days that you have the car. I've never paid more than about $140 for a 1 week rental from Alamo at MCO.

Something else to take into consideration is that the WDW bus from the Waldorf will eat up a fare bit of time. We stayed at the HBC last year and talked with people at the pool that were using the bus....they said they found that the trip took around 45 minutes to an hour. They also said that in future they would rent a car to save time and also to open up alternate dinning options.

Thank you for your responses so far.

I'm going to look up Hertz rates.

Dancin Disney, I'll have to run the numbers on keeping a rental for a week. (If my research is correct), we'll pay parking fees of 12 for one night at PBH and 20 a night (x6) at the WA. So that's 132 dollars in parking fees I won't have if we don't keep a car for a 8 days.

If my cab rides to/from MCO come in close to 70 dollars each way, the ease of letting someone else drive will be worth it.
