Hi, we are flying in to Disney World on Air tran and staying at the Boardwalk. I know we can use the magical express but they said it could be 1 1/2 hrs on the bus before we reach our destination. We are also going to sea world the next day. I also have ADR for Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Fare which Disney tells me they don't go from resort to resort. I am in a conference until 5:30 and our reservation is at 7:15 at 1900 park fare. Rental car is probably the best option?

It doesn't take 1 1/2 hours on the bus; 90 minutes is the approximate time it takes you to get to your hotel from the time you land (or possibly the time you get off the plane; I don't remember which.) This accounts for the time it takes to get to the DME area, waiting time for the bus to leave, as well as there being additional stops besides yours (although you very well be the first stop.) And while there aren't buses that go from resort to resort, Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare are pretty easy to get to using Disney transportation. For CM, take the bus to MK and then just walk to the Contemporary, and for 1900 Park Fare, take the bus to MK, then either the monorail or the boat to the Grand Floridian.

For the OP, the answer is "it depends" ;)

As the PP has noted, you can get to your dinner reservations at WDW fairly easily using the Disney busses. Even on the night that you get out at 5:30 pm and have a 7:15 pm reservation, you can do it. At worst, you could take a taxi for only about $15-20 each way.

However, going to SeaWorld is the bigger issue. I'm not sure how much it would cost for a taxi to get there and back - probably more than $35 each way?

How much will a rental car cost you?

You could just rent a car for a day or two. You could rent from Alamo at the airport and Alamo has to locations at Disney for you to return the car. There is NO one way rental fee if you do this. this may allivate some of your worries. the Alamo locations at Disney will also shuttle you back to your resort once you turn the car in!

We usually do this and this allows us to stop at Super Target to get drinks and snacks for our stay.
