Rental car or Disney transportation?

We are trying to decide if we should rent a car and use that to get around? We are staying at WL, but we thought we would rent a car because we want to to go Universal, etc. Will that be easier to get to the Disney parks than the boat or bus? We have AAA so I think I have heard about special parking for that also?

IMO I don't think you will need a rental. Disney transportation is awesome. Buses usually run every 10-20 minutes and you have use of the boat. Since, you are staying on Disney property you can use the Magical Express if you are going later than May 5 (airport service). As for Universal you can use Mears Shuttle. Which is roundtrip $14 adult $12 kids or just rent the car the day you want to head to Universal. I prefer the shuttle that way after a long day after the park you don't have to worry about finding your way back to the hotel. This year we decided to do a towncar...just to compare. As for AAA I don't know as I have never drove to a park. I go on vacation to be pampered/relax so, I like someone else to drive me.
