???Rental Car needed if staying at OKW????

This will be our first stay at Old Key West and I am concerned with mixed reviews I have read regarding their transportation. We normally do not rent a car and have stayed at Dixie landings, Dolphin and all stars and have always found the Disney transportation to be excellent. Is a rental car necessary? Does anyone know the average time it takes to get to each park from Old key West?

We have stayed at OKW at least 19 times. It really depands on what you intend to do other than the parks. Bus service to the parks is no problem. If you are planning on using the main pool or eating at Olivias a car in helpful. The facility is spread out, but you can use the park buses to go around OKW as they make a loop of the entire place. We always have a car and use it for dinners at other hotels and sometimes to go to the main building.

I like the ability to drive if I want. With the price of a car service, you can usually get a car for about the same price.
