rental car help

ok so traveling to Houston TX and now need a mini van or SUV. have 3 convertible car seats so car wont work. whats the best way to rent a car and from where? i know ebates and swagbucks offer different amounts of savings so thought I'd ask here for advice. Wasn't planning on needing a rental car end of this month for 5-6 days for our trip so really need to put out as little as possible. thanks in advance for any suggestions

Are you a member of Costco? They often have great rates, but only price out 4 companies. If I book through them, I recheck the price often. The price often drops considerably less than one week out.

Try the transportation board - there is a thread for each month with info on rate codes and promos and general idea of what people are paying for the length and type of car. Also check out the "Other Transportation" page on Mousesavers - they list a lot of info about rental car companies including promo codes.

Thanks everyone I'll check out the transportation board. No we had a BJs but let it expire and will sign up again in Feb. to get the 14 mo for $40 vs. $50 for 12 mo.
