Rental car help.... week or 2 days? Transportation from Downtown to Universal?

We are flying to visit husband's grandmother before we go to Disney. We will be picking up the car at the Ft. Lauderdale airport, then driving to Disney. I can't seem to find a cheaper rate than 200 for the week. We would also like to go to Universal one day.

If I returned the car when we arrived at Disney, could we get a bus or some sort of tranportation to Universal? How much does it cost?

Do you think we would be better off keeping it for the week since we will need to get to Orlando Airport anyway and will need transportation for that?


Finally, if staying at the courtyard marriot downtown, do we have to pay for the daily parking at Disney?

Well, I don't know how much you would save with just having the car for a few days. You have to figure $30 a so for each day so that is $60. Mears will take you to Universal at $15 a head I think so you can figure between $30 and $60 depending on how many of you there are and the same for the trip back to the airport. So you are looking at probably a somewhere about $120 (probably more) for transportation if you don't keep the car.

I am at the Courtyard now and you don't get free parking at the resorts.
