rental car gas - short trip

If I rent a car from MCO and drive directly to The Dolphin for drop off do I need to top off the gas tank before I turn it in at The Dolphin? Seems like such a short trip - the gas gauge should still be on full. What do you think?

Hard to predict...usually we can make it from MCO to Celebration without the gauge going down, but certain cars are total gas hogs and it will noticably go down even for that distance! Fords (Focus, Taurus) seem to be the worst offenders, although I've had it happen with a coupleof Cavaliers too.

We did that with a Toyota Camry - gas gauge didn't move an inch.... so it probably does depend on the car.

I have also had the return agent ask for a receipt showing that gas was purchased.
