We enjoy having our own car while on vacation and are considering renting a car for our land/sea vaca in Nov. We have booked a car thru Alamo for $128 ($164 with tax/etc).
It seems to me that this is actually less expensive then paying for transportation from airport to resort, resort to port, and port to airport.
I know that Disney will be offering Magic Express at this time but I invision long waits for a shuttle and/or many stops at other resorts before arrival at ours.
Even with three days parking at the port which I read somewhere is about $10 per day I still see this as an economical and convient alternative to disney transportation. It will also allow us to board the ship asap.

I am very interested in anyone opinions pro and con of this plan.

Hey HippieChic,
We're doing the same thing....In fact, there's another thread about this running right now.
We rented from Budget and supposedly, I still haven't gotten around to calling, but from what I understand from messages posted on this board as well as a friend of mine, you can Drop your car off at Budget and then take the free shuttle back to the port, and then pick the car up when you are finished with the cruise, thereby eliminating any parking fees. You have to check with Alamo to see if they have an office in Port Canaveral.
But it seems like A Lot Of People do this...
Have fun!
