My DH and I are flying into MCO Dec 31st and are renting a car to drive to our villa to meet some family. We were planning to put DH's brother as the additional driver so he and his wife can return the car for their outgoing flight Jan 2nd. I read somewhere that the additional driver is supposed to be present to sign a form at the time of rental. Has anyone ever had experience with this before? Would copying his driver's license and signing something ahead of time agreeing to the terms of the rental work? I know I'll have to call Alamo as the time comes closer to be sure but I just thought someone might know something here.

When I've added an extra driver that wasn't with me, I had to return to the car rental counter with that person. It was usually someone who I had to pick up at the airport anyway so it was not a big deal to stop in at the counter a second time.

I think any time I've put a second driver (which I don't do that often) they've had to show their driver's license.
