Myself, DH, DD & DS are planning to be at WDW July 9-15, 2005. We will be staying in DD Hilton. Is it too early to book rental cars? Two years ago we planned an August trip late and ended up paying about $179/week for a intermediate size car from Thrifty. This time I would like to do cheaper. Any codes or ideas out their? Thanks!!

:thewave:

We're heading to Florida in August, August 13 - August 26 and I rented a mini van through dollar for $221 per week which so far is considerably cheaper than anything else I have found.

Try L&M Car rental - they are 'in terminal' at MCO and have beaten the socks off of anyother prices I've been able to find - even through Priceline! Service is excellent and the two vehicles I've rented from them in the past have both had less than 1500 miles on them! :cool1:

Go ahead and make a ressie now for your car rental, but go back once/twice a week to check rates, they fluctuate so much that you may find something better. If you do, make a new ressie to lock in the better rate, then cancel the original one.

Good luck!

It seems car rental rates change daily. You really need to check out the web sites for their best offers, including specials, coupons, credit card offers, etc. I have recently rented a Grand Caravan from Thrifty (MCO) for $205 (total) for a week, and recieved additional frequent flyer miles as well. Was it the best deal- who knows??

Check MouseSavers.com - Discounts on Rental Cars and RentalCodes.com for discount codes and coupons.

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, National and L&M are located right inthe airport. All others will require a shuttle bus ride to and from their remote locations when picking up and dropping off the car.

My advise would be to book your car as early as possible and then keep checking back for a better rate. Unlike hotels, there is no penalty for canceling and rebooking a car reservation.

If you have no preference for rental company, there's always Priceline as well. However, once you've Pricelined your car, you cannot cancel it. You're committed to the deal.

I just reserved a minivan for June with Budget for $210 incl. tax.

I went through the Southwest airlines site, and used my fastbreak number. I couldn't even get close to that price anywhere else.

You can rent a compact for about $100 there.
