Rental Car Damage

Hi all,

I just wanted to remind everyone to take a good look at their rental car before leaving the rental site.

We just rented a minivan through Hertz at the Orlando Airport and we never checked it. After leaving the ramp, we stopped at Target and I noticed that there was damage to the passenger side where someone had side swiped something. I immediately took a time stamped photo with my phone and called Hertz to report it.

Luckily for us, they were very good about it and didnt charge us or make a big deal about it but they could have and who knows how other companies would have handled it.

In the future I will always take a good look before leaving the facility.

One report I read just a few weeks ago suggested taking pictures "up her skirt" if you noticed damage low down or on the bumpers.

They did opine that the renter should not be responsible for damage underneath that could not be easily seen such as under the middle.
