Rental Car Bizarreness

Yesterday I went looking for rental cars for my Feb vacation. Went to Dollar 1st because we've seen the lowest rates through them for the past 3 trips. I was at the price for 1 week for a compact! over $300!

I went to Alamo and actually found a decent rate right around $200. I went to book it, figuring I'd at least have something and I'd keep trying until Feb, but I need to book it under my husband's name and I didn't have his Insider's login info.

He gave me his info today and when I went to book the price is now over $330 for the week for Alamo!

So I just went back to Dollar and BAM $180 for the week! Why do they do this to customers? How annoying! These companies make no sense.

Keep checking. I started out in May for my Nov trip with dollar at 185 with taxes for compact. I am now at a fullsize for $114 with taxes for the week.

Same here! Our rate for 8 days fluctuates daily. Right now I am at 212 taxes included for thrifty but I am hoping for an even better deal.
