Rental car at Sanford Airport?

We just got back two weeks ago. I helped for families plan their trips that flew into sanford. About 10 day before arrival i got them all rentals for standard or mid size for $95.17 plus tax.

I have a reservation with Alamo from 4/26-5/5 at SFB for $213 for a premium but since I got that I haven't found anything remotely close to it, and forget about finding something lower. Not sure what's up other than maybe there is less competition at SFB than MCO?

Hoping to get a lower rate closer to departure time.....

I have a compact car booked, through Priceline (not name your own price) for Sept 1-4, at WPalm Beach Intl...for, are you ready??? $245.00!!! I'm really hoping I can get something a lot cheaper once I get closer to my dates. But, at least I have something. I need to get to VB and then over to WDW.
You are going to find that the further out you book, the higher the rate will be...usually.

I have a full size reserved for 5/23 with pick up at 9pm. We are bringing it back to MCO on 6/3 around noon. With a coupon from BJ's the rate so far is $527.29. I am also hoping the rates go down. I did the same exact thing for with a pick up and return out of MCO and was quoted $307.00. I have a plane reservation coming down on Allegiant.

It's way too early for deals for the fall. I have a couple of reservations for SFB for a week in June. One is for a Ford Focus for $180 all taxes included with Dollar and one is for a Dodge Avenger for $188 all taxes included with Thrifty. These would have been about double if I tried 6 months ago.

We are flying into Sanford airport for our June trip. When I was searching, I found this company to have the lowest rates, but they unfortunately don't have minivans and we need a minivan.:

Are you flying Allegiant? We ended up reserving one through Allegiant with our flights, that was the cheapest by quite a bit. I am going to continue to check rates though, like you I've been told they go down as the trip gets closer.

We are flying Allegiant, but I didn't reserve a car with the flights. It seemed to want me to pay for the car with the flights, so I took the car res. off.

You can log back into Allegiant's website and add the car later, that's what we did. They do want you to pay for the car upfront, though.

I just talked to Allegiant and they gave me a price to add a car. However, I'd have had to pay now, and that doesn't include all the extra taxes and fees (which add over $100 normally). They couldn't tell me what the total charge at the time of rental (when I pay the extra taxes fees) would be so I wasn't comfortable paying.

That would bother me as well. Why can't they have it set up like a regular rental company does?
I looked at Advantage, too expensive, but they do have minivans. A dodge caravan came up for my dates.

You are looking WAY too early for a car rental. You will find the best prices 7-10 before your trip. I never book my car until the Tues before my trip because that is when the car rental companies release their last minute car specials.
