Rental Car Agent Humor

Last weekend we rented a car via Priceline and got Alamo. We don't get the pre-paid gas, as sometimes we don't use a lot over a short weekend. We just gas up at the Circle k on Boggy Creek, since it is close to the airport.
We filled the tank and drove into the garage to return the car. As we were taking inventory of our bags, the agent who was checking it in said, "You know, gas is $5.50 a gallon, and you only have half a tank!" Apparently this was rental car agent humor, and I caught on in a couple of seconds. I guess that working with tourists all day can give people a sadistic sense of humor I'll bet he loves to see the facial expressions!

That was my first thought, since they had tried the "insurance hustle" when we rented. He was definitely kidding, but if I'd offered to pay, maybe he would have kept it
