Rental agencies

Has anyone rented through mickeysworld.net? Their prices seem considerably better than other agencies and although I love a good deal, I don't want to end up like friends of ours whose rental home ended up having more roaches than you can shake a stick at (They didn't rent from mickeysworld.net, by the way!)

In your experience, which agencies have a solid reputation and good prices?

Just had a look at the site and both homes are very nice. To me it looks like a owner who runs the 2 homes and deals with all the management side as they are local (therefore no need to employ anyone to do it). There calenders are very well filled so presume they are pretty good.

HomeAway offers you a guarantee against fraud for any of the homes that are listed on their sites (includes vrbo.com). You have to register the home with them before you send a deposit to the owners. (book the home through the homeaway site.

HomeAway is a very dependable site and one of the biggest listing sites that you can find. It has a number of other rental sites within their company.
We usually use vrbo.com.

We stayed at Mickey's World #1 last X-mas and will be staying there again this X-mas. We loved it. It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The owner, Dina, was very responsive to emails leading up to our trip and calls during our trip. We booked it directly through her website.

We had some miscommunication about the pool heat but it was not anyone's fault, just miscommunication, and it was cleared up pretty quick. One of the kids mattresses was very squeeky and loud, but I believe she replaced the mattresses very soon after our trip.

Glitches will happen anywhere. I think the measure of quality in these rentals is how quickly the owner responds to the issue.
