RENT UP TO 24 PTS from DVC PER UY

Just saw on Member's site one time per UY up to 24 points at $15 per point if a member is short points to complete a trip in that Use Year.

I just got an email about this! This is AWESOME! Now I can just rent when I am a couple of points short rather than staying at a value on cash for a night!

IMO, this is the most positive change/addition DVC has implemented since I purchased in 2008.

I just got this email as well. I immediately came to the DIS to rejoice! This will be perfect for me. When I saw the headline in the email I held my breath until I got to the site. Yay, it was what I was hoping for.

I just read that too. At first I thought it was a high price to pay but when you consider the ease of it, I actually like the idea of having the option. It certainly is nice for when you are short a few points or want to add a day without borrowing from the next year because you have already planned out how you will use the next year's points

I agree it makes things easier for members instead of seeking alternatives or other sources to rent some additional points from; although booking with these 24 points may only be done at 7 month window or less. Also, I'm no expert, but I would think that with DVC charging $15 per point that may also help members who rent their points to ask for higher price than what's typically seen.

I think it is a great option. The only thing I wish is that it would apply to the 11 month window, not the 7 month. That having been said, $360 for 24 points, to stay on deluxe properties, I like it.

Guessing that if they could be used at 11 month window that gives an unfair advantage, ie I own OKW so if I want 2 studios at BWV lets say that total 24 points at 11 months then I am cutting into a BWV owner's priority booking window, so i'd think that's why DVC has stated these 24 pts can only be used to book at 7 months or less, otherwise they'd have a whole new set of issues to contend with.
