Rent/transfer advice needed!

We are planning a trip with another non DVC member family and would like them to pay for the difference in points between a 1 BR and a 2BR and although we have the points available for the difference we don't want to use up our personal points for the difference so we are going to ask friends if we can rent/transfer points from them(they have tons of points!). Can anyone tell me how this works? I would like to get the details before I ask our friends if we can rent/transfer points since I'm not sure that they have ever rented or transferred points

Give the friends with the points your membership number and make sure you specify the contract/use year to transfer in to. You should read the transfer 101 thread to make sure you understand the ins and out.
