Ok, my head is spinning! I have 2 rooms booked for October. A split stay with 3 nights at POFQ and 3 at WL. So today I cruise on over to the DVC board. :sail: And if my math is right (and it may not be, lol!), it would be cheaper to rent points and do the whole stay at the WLV. Even with my AAA discount! The thing is, I plan on buying an annual pass. :cool1: So my question is, would I be better off renting the points, or staying where I am and hoping for an AP discount? Can anyone tell me which would end up being the better deal? The WL Villas are 32 points Sun-Thur and 61 Fri-Sat for a 2 bedroom. Help me please!!!

Definitely rent the points if you can and do the whole stay at VWL. That way you won't have to split your stay, you will have more room and you will have your whole trip in a deluxe resort.

October might be difficult, but not impossible. Estimate the value based on $10 or more per point. $320/night and $610 per night on Fri and Sat. Is this more than you are currently paying? You'll need to find a member with the number of points you need and not get multiple members trying to sell you points. They have no value to you at all if you are not a member.

I did both. I am staying seven nights at OKW in a 1 br villa. I booked the Friday and Saturday using AP discount ($690), and I rented points for Sun-Thurs ($1,020). I have to purchase the AP ticket but I broke even with the discount I got on the first two nights (ticket $441).
I also plan to go back in December, and will probably rent again.

They won't make you change rooms when you go from AP to renting points, will they?

There is no way to link a reservation for points and cash through CRO. You have to notify DVC and CRO of each other's reservation number and have it noted on their reservation. The member will have to notify MS for you on your CRO reservation number.

Then when you check in, you have to tell the CM again. If you are lucky, they will have you blocked into the room for both stays. You will have to check out and check back in, though.
