Rent from Dollar or Alamo?

I used Alamo last time we went to WDW and the service was GREAT. We loved that you just walked to the car and ddin't have to go to a counter or anything. This time, I reserved through Dollar because I got a better price, but I hear that even with Dollar express, I still have to go to a counter, which I don't like :sad2: . Today I'm seeing some decent deals form Alamo (comparable to the dollar deal) and I'm wondering if I should bother changing my reservations (we leave Saturday). Anyone have experience renting from Dollar and Alamo? Is one better than the other? Any suggestions?

If the price is comparable and you liked Alamo before, I would go with them.
My main reasons is: Alamo does not put a hold on your credit card for more than the rental. You will actually pay Alamo at the time of rental.
Dollar puts a rather large hold on your cc. Sometimes it takes awhile for those holds to release.

I think I will go with Alamo since they finally came out with a good rate. I'm a creature of habit!

Care to share what codes you used? We used Alamo for the first time this past May. I had a coupon, so I had to wait in line. The line was the longest of all the rental companies, but it moved pretty quickly. The agent was not Mrs. Personality, but maybe she was having an off day.
We have rented with Dollar on past trips and they were always great. I like the idea of not having to go to the counter at all tho! That would be ideal.

Sure -- I got the rate from their last minute deal emails and the ID is just IG (fill it in the box that says ID/Corp ID, not the rate/product code box). I got the premium reserved for $179.90, or I could have gotten a minivan for 199.90. I don't know if that code works if you didn't link to it from the email or not. I've been waiting for their last minute deals and finally they came through!

The was I avoid the counter is by doing Alamo's online check-in. You give them your driver's license number and CC# online, then you don't have to go to a counter when you get to Orlando. It really rocks!

Thanks, I'll try the code and see what it comes up with. Alamo was the most crowded rental line when we were there in May, so bypassing it is a good idea.
