Rent a golf cart or MVMCP?

I'm working on our trip budget here for special events and extras. We have room in the budget for MVMCP or a golf cart, but not both. We'll probably be in a partial hookup site, with two small kids. Would you do MVMCP or get the golf cart?

Thanks!

What are the ages of your children? Are they old enough to stay up late enough for MVMCP? How long will you be at FW?

6 and 3. They can probably make it to 11 for the party, maybe later if they have a good nap during the day. We'll be at FW for 10 nights, 11 days.

Thanks

I would probably choose MVMCP as you can use the Disney transportation. It was nice to see the snow on main street and the special fireworks.

I vote for the electric cart especially for a 10 night trip, if you coordinate with an off-site company you could probably get a better rate than the bike barn for that length if stay

Golf cart. You'll use it *every* day that you're there, and it'll be a source of entertainment for the children as well.... a novelty. We went to the MVMCP last year.... and it was OK... but not stellar. Yeah, free cocoa and cookies, special fireworks... but guess what? Take them down to the beach, wrap in blankets, and take your own cocoa and special christmas cookies.... a nighttime picnic to watch the fireworks! Then, take the golf cart back to your site with 2 sleepy children.....lol.... you'll be making memories!!

I agree with the golf cart. Your children are young and there is a lot of things for them to see and do at FW. I'd do the golf cart especially with children those ages.

Thanks! That was my gut feeling, but I wanted to be sure.

I would do the Golf Cart too!! The MVMCP is fun but you really don't know what the weathers going to be like if you are purchasing your tickets in advance and with your young ones I'm sure the golf cart will come in really handy.

Golf cart! We have the cutest photos of our little one asleep on the back seat of the golf cart. It is a tradition--we head out for an evening ride and she snuggles up to someone in the back and nods off. And at the holiday time you'll be able to ride around at night and see some great decorations--some with snow!:santa:

I agree get a cart!!!!!!!:cool1:

I guess I'm in the minority (:wave2: :wave2: Becky1960) but I'd choose MVMCP. Your kids are the perfect ages for it, I think. The buses are there to get you to the different areas of the campground. I just found the Christmas party to be very fun and the parade to be especially magical. If you're not going to be coming back at Christmas time, you might consider doing the party this time and the cart the next. Or rent the cart a couple of those days you're there. Ooh, that's a good compromise! The party is equal to, what?, 4 days of cart rental? You can do the party in the first 4 days of your stay, while walking to places, and then the last half rent a cart.

If you don't want to read about some details of MVMCP skip the last bit that follows.

We had planned to go to the 2nd parade the night we were there and I had to get to the train station area of Main St. while the first one was going on. I had tunnel vision in my mission to dodge the masses who were watching the parade and was walking pretty fast. I was flying down the sidewalk when I saw a little kid's face looking up at the parade, completely blissed out. I stopped and turned around and saw bright bright white, heard the Christmas music, saw the people on the float dancing and then saw all the snow mixed in with it. Loads of snow, and it all blended in together to make one of those 'Toto, we're not in Florida anymore' moments. I really had a great time that night (thanks Mom and Dad! ).
