Rent a car or use Uber/Lyft?

Interested in recent experience with Uber/Lyft in WDW and MCO. Just two of us, staying at GF, so don't need transport to Epcot or MK on our 5 day vacation in September. I've done the math, and it looks like Uber/Lyft is the less expensive option, even when including to/from MCO and considering that we do not have to pay for parking at the resort or parks as we are DVC staying on points. Do you agree with my assertion that Uber/Lyft gets to the hotel in about the same time as it takes to walk from the hotel entrance to the car in the parking lot? We don't do the Disney buses - too many bad experiences :).

We take a car service from MCO to the hotel, but we use Lyft when the buses aren't there within a few mins or are overcrowded (which is quite common). We don't call Lyft until we are at the hotel bus stop, but they usually arrive within 10 minutes I'd say (15 max).

I am going to jump on this thread and ask my Lyft/Uber question. We are staying off property, extended family in a VRBO. If we drive to a park in the smallest number of cars possible, someone might want to leave earlier.

Where would Uber or Lyft pick you up from a park?

I haven't done the math but since you have and ride share is less expensive it seems like a great option.

I don't think ride share gets you to the hotel in about the same time as it takes to walk from the hotel entrance to the car in the parking lot. That walk is usually less than five minutes. Or do I misunderstand your assertion?

Each park has a designated rideshare drop off - pickup location, generally close to the charter bus parking area. Most are close to the park entrance, except MK, where rideshare drops off at the TTC.
