Rent a car or take a cab to Universal

This has probably been asked before. Is it more convienant and economical to rent a car for 1 day or to take a cab from Wilderness Lodge to Universal Studios? My son has his heart set on going there for one day and I am trying to figure out logistics.. Thanks!

I think someone say that Mears shuttle was the best - but for 2 people I just don't know.

I know that US/IOA charges for parking $8 - unless you have an annual pass. So add that to the cost of the car.
