How do you know what rooms have been renovated at the Dolphin?
My family will be arriving at the Dolphin Nov. 30. I have asked for a room w/ king bed and pull out sofa.

This is our first stay inside the parks. We have always rented a house off property. From the opinions I've read on this board I think we are making the right decision. My husband is a firefighter and qualifies for the government rate throught Dreams Unlimited.
The only thing that concerns me is that the more I read, the more I worry about what room we will get. It seems as though some people let the room you get dictate how your vacation will be.

Please tell me our stay in the Dolphin will be great even if we don't get a top notch room.

Thanks!

Give them a call and ask if they can note on your ressie that you want a renovated room. Never hurts to ask!

Your stay will be what you make it - unless there is some obvious problem with your room (mold, mildew, rats...ewww), wherever you end up should be just fine.

The Dolphin is an awesome place - enjoy your trip!

We just returned from a stay at the Swan last week. A CM told me he "believed" they were somewhere around the 7th floor as far as renovations were going at the Dolphin. The Swan of course is all finished as far as the interior rooms go. They will begin doing the outside of the doors and the hallways next.

I can tell you, you might want to check about the king with a sofabed at the Dolphin. I didn't know they had sofabeds there in the regular rooms. We had a king at the end of the hall (with the torret balcony) last December and there wasn't a sleeper. Of course, this was prior to the renovations, so maybe they put sleepers in now? You might want to check that.

Enjoy your stay!

We checked into the Dolphin on 10/31 and were thrilled to get a room at noon, until we realized that the water in the bathroom wasn't turned on, and work was obviously being done in the tub. We called and told reception and went to lunch. I think the restaurant was called Fresh, at the Dolphin, it was wonderful. We got back and learned that we would be moving, well the new room was wonderful, newly renovated, and had a view of the pool, and we had a balcony. Now, the other room's view was of the convention center, it would NOT have ruined our stay, but the new room and view definitely added to the magic.

While they are not in all rooms. I had a king bed with a pull-out sofa on one trip last year.

Usually, I get two doubles because the kids are with me, so, I don't know how prevalent these rooms are.

Join the Starwood Preferred Guest program at spg.com. It's free and applies points to all Sheraton/Westin hotel stays. Have your Starwood Member number added to your reservation. Use the Special Requests feature under Reservations at the www.swandolphin.com website to request a renovated room. I think you will like the king bed/sofa combo even if it's not renovated, but the renovations are very nice.
