Renewing my Annual Pass, parking, deteriorated pass

I got some good questions about renewing my AP.

Straight to it then...

My AP expires on Sept. 27, damn, and I arrive on Oct 2nd so......

1. When I renew it from home, do I still have to go once before getting the free parking privileges (again)? (or is that only for the first time you ever use it?)

2. My AP has almost faded completely. If I arrive to the parking lot with the AP in that deteriorated state, will I have any issues? My name is still visible and stuff... :rolleyes1

3. Can I obtain a new AP at guest services to replace the faded one?

4. Renewal is done online/phone? Which is better?

5. THANK YOU!!! :goodvibes

Cheers!

Pretty sure they just renew it from its old date and you can just use it like it has already been activated, because it has. An unactivated pass has no end date, yours does.

Go to Guest Services and show them your pass. You'd think they would just reissue a new one.

We've renewed both by phone and online. The last time we renewed online, for some reason we had to go to will call and pick up a new pass. It was bizarre because no one knew why the pass wasn't showing as renewed (even though we had the computer print out) or where the transaction went. MIght have been a software glitch.

renew your ap online.

if you do it now, you can use it for free parking at the garage.

you can renew it once at the park as you have up to 29 days after expiration to do so.

if the TM's at the park gate tell you the ap won't scan, they'll let you in but you need to replace it at guest services.

doesn't matter if the pass is faded, only is a problem if it won't scan.

renewing online is simple.
but, if you want reassurance of the parking situation, go ahead and call.
kill two birds with one stone.

Tell me about it... I've had my own share of "software glitches" wit my RoF, FFP, UVP, room charge, delivery to resort from Finnegan's, etc etc... :sad2:

Thank you damo!

Thank you mac!

When you renew the pass online, you had to push the issue button on the order in order for the year to be added to the current pass.. I am not sure if that is still the case though. But that is why your pass was scanning as expired instead of renewed when you renewed online. It was not a computer glitch. It was that the team members were not aware of how it worked when you renew online. It might have changed now. I am just saying this is how it was the last time I saw someone renew a pass online.

The order went through because the charge was on the credit card. We were not recharged when we went to will call. It was very strange. We actually had to pick up a new AP that was waiting for us at Will Call.

We had renewed before and never had that issue. Normally, the year is just simply added to the AP and you don't pick up another one.

So I guess I'll head on over directly to the parking lot.

I think I'll call to renew when the UTH Tour dates become available. Take advantage and do both with the same call... :goodvibes

Cheers!

I did not meant that you had to push issue. I meant that the team member had to click issue on the online order...

How much is a non-FL resident AP renewal? I'm getting an AP just for the hotel discount, even though this will be our only trip to Universal within the next year. I might want to renew, though, so we can go early 2015, if the price is right. Seems worth it just for the resort discounts.
