(Sorry, I had no idea which board this should be posted.)

I'm debating renewing my D23 memebership . . .

Last year I was very excited to join, but now that it's time to renew, I'm not so sure that I need to spend $75 right now . . .

Sure, I liked getting the emails and the beautiful magazine with the little extras that they included, but . . .

I couldn't and won't be able to attend any of the Expo's or Anniversary parties, and I haven't really loved any of the special merchandise that requires a membership to be able to purchase . . .

Just curious as to how everyone feels - thanks for the input! :goodvibes

Nope. Not gonna do it.

I don't regret having joined, and I liked very much the goodies. If I lived nearer to either park or NYC I'd probably re-up, or if the convention were held during a time of year I could travel more easily. But where I am, that's $75 I can keep this year.

I was thinking of changing to the Silver membership, its less money, you don't get the magazine, but you get the e-mails and specials.

I am pondering it, as a designer I really enjoy the magazines so I view it as a magazine subscription more than anything. The events they have hosted at WDW haven't been nearly as frequent nor as cool as the ones at Disneyland and is starting to rub me the wrong way, overall since I am FL resident and WDW is my home park.

I blew off the anniversary party even though I would be two days shy of making it during my last trip because it was more expensive than Disneyland's and because I was expecting they would offer way cooler guests at Disneyland so I would feel sorta let down for paying extra money on rooms/tickets and then hearing about how the East coast got a better deal for less money. Now that I hear my fears were founded I am relieved I didn't go.

I don't have to renew for quite a while because I waited for a long time before becoming a charter member, so I am hoping they start getting WDW events on par with Disneyland. I have gotten cooler events and perks as an annual passholder than as a D23 member so far, so if I do it will be based on wanting to receive the magazine alone really. :confused3
