My AP expired during my March trip this year but I didn't have enough money to renew at that time. I will be wanting to renew here in the next month. My questions are:

1> Can I renew online with the old # on my AP?
2> Will my expiration date be one year after I renew or default back to the March date?
3> If it does default back.....can I request to change that....hate to lose 5 months on it.

Thanx for any help on this!!

I don't know the answers but I have all the same questions, so I'll keep an eye on this thread! My pass expires in November but I probably won't really head up there as often as I have the last two years until Carsland opens. I'm thinking of letting it go for several months before renewing my PAP. Hopefully somebody knows!

Laurie I am doing the same thing but I am just going to start over. I will lose out on the 20 bucks but it is worth it to me cuz I want to get new dates starting in Feb for the ladies trip. I purposely let mine expire and am not starting it in Nov when we go because I want to get an entire summer AND holiday season on my pass. I would think if you go to the page and just select new pass you can do it that way. But you may want to call someone to make sure if you want to use your old photo.

I bet though if you put in your info it will probably bring it up. I have a feeling though if it is more than a few months it probalby will let you get a new pass and not make you start from the old expiration date.

Good luck and hopefully you get an answer. I am curious as well.

Thanx Kelly & Sonnyjane......hopefully someone that's done it will let us know!!!

You will get a new expiration date 1year from when you renew regardless of when your AP last expired. Whenever mine expires I always wait until my next trip to renew so I don't lose precious days in between!

That's great news!!! I thought I had read somewhere that if you renew within 6 mos of the expiration date, it diverts back to your original date. I'd hate to loose that much time on my pass!

I have always renewed mine within 2-3 months after expiration and have always been given a new expiration 1 year from the date of renewal. The only thing you will miss out on is the $20 off for renewing early.

This has always been my experience as well.

I have some related questions as our APs expired in February and we're planning a trip in September.

First, I'm assuming the advantage to renewing after expiration rather than just starting fresh is that you don't have to re-take the pictures, fill out forms, etc? Would I even need the rest of my family with me when we renew inside the park?

Second, if we book a package that includes a hopper, can we get the credit from that if we renew during our visit?

Thanks!

I can answer the latter part......I booked a package with a PH when I got my first AP. I went into the AP center & they applied the PH towards the price of the AP.

I was just on the DL AP site and used their chat option. The CM who helped me was named Cheryl and informed me that APs can only be renewed within 30 days of expiration, so we will need to purchase new APs. She also said that new pictures will be needed as well. The old pictures cannot be re-used.

She said that the PH from the package will earn a credit toward the AP. She also said that regardless of which day we upgrade, the AP will have the same date as the first day we used the PH.

Finally, she said that the APs will all be handled at the ticket booths rather than the AP center. She said that there will be photopass photographers there to take pictures for the AP. :confused3 Curious to see how that all works!

Very interesting...when we upgraded our tix to APs in May, we did it at the Greetings Store in CA. I guess things are always in flux there.

While it's true you are buying a new one, not renewing. The AP centers are closed now so everything is done through the TB and photos can be added online or with a photopass photog. When you purchase it at the ticket booth, your info is already in the system so they should be able to pull up your old picture too.

Yes, Disney is in the process of closing down all the AP centers in Disneyland and CA Adventure. All new APs and onsite renewals will need to be made at the ticket booths. Note that there will be signage showing you which ticket booths are offering the APs.
