Meaning - how soon after your AP expires do you have to renew to get the renewal rate?

When deciding about renewing, you need to consider how long it will be between the date the old one expires and your next visit to the parks. If there is more than an ~45 day lapse (not a precise calculation, you'll have to do the math) you may find it beneficial to just buy a new pass that will then expire 365 days from the new purchase date.
