Renewing AP and Upgrading Question

My AP expires in September. I want to get in on all the summer fun this year

Is it possible to "renew" early and upgrade my pass as well to a Deluxe? Is the difference for renewing simply a 20 dollar discount? I will forgo the 20 dollar discount if they won't let me upgrade and renew my pass early (like now). I don't care if my new expiration date is in June rather than September.

What I'm saying is, can I get a 20 dollar off discount for "renewing" my pass early (like in JUne rather than Sept) and upgrade my pass as well?

I think you can renew no more than around 40 days in advance.

You can upgrade at any time, but you will pay the full price difference between the two passes, so if you are going to do it, sooner is better than later.

Yup! They won't let you renew early, but you can upgrade to a Deluxe next time you go to the parks, you'll just pay the difference between what you paid for the SoCal and the price of the Deluxe

Then, if you want to renew for the $20 discount, you can renew starting 40 days before your pass expires.
