Renewing AP - 6 Months Free advice?

Hi,

My DLP AP expires in February - a long way off but I want to be prepared!!

I have a few questions:

• What are the rules surroudning the 6-month extension?
• Do I have to wait until my AP is within X months of expiring before I can extend/renew, or can I do it at the AP office any point I choose?
• Can I let my pass expire, then return (buying a 1-day ticket) and get it extended even after expiration with an additional 6 months and a refund of my paper ticket?

I definitely want to do it at the 'bureau' - I know people have been successful doing it by post, but the line at the office wasn't too long when I was there last, and if I have the flexibility to renew early whenever I want (and get the time added on from the end of the pass), then I could just go in when it looks quiet (like next month or something).

Ok, if you let your pass expire - you WON'T get your six month extention. It will be treated as a normal 12 month new AP.

You can renew four weeks before it expires and not before.

If you can, I'd do it in person as while others use the post, I like to visit myself ;-)
