DH currently has a PAP (from the buy 1 year, get 1 free offer) which is due to expire in April.

Could someone tell me a) will we get a reminder to renew, b) how much it costs to renew and c) (the million dollar question) what the chances are of any similar kind of offer this year, i.e. buy 1 yr, get 1 free?

Many thanks for any/all help :)

I was not sent a reminder, cost apparently went up this month to $159 not sure if that includes the tax

Ok here is a post from someone on another site who renewed their PAP a few days ago over the phone

[I renewed mine by phone today and it was $159.74 including tax no mention of any offers ]

I called an hour ago and was told $149.95 + tax...In any event...that's a hell of a jump.

It is quite a jump in price, so will have to decide wether to renew mine when we are there in July

Crap! We've got three to renew! That was quite a jump!

Wow, I renewed 2 weeks ago and it was 117.14 with tax. Good thing I did it then.

You won't get a reminder and I seriously doubt if they'll offer the buy one year, get second year free since Harry Potter is scheduled to open.

It's been $99 and then $109 plus tax for like almost 10 years and now all of a sudden it jumps to $149,that's a pretty major jump.I'll still renew but I wonder how many others won't.

Indeed...I wish I had know of the price jump.

That's true.

Thanks for the replies guys. Wow, that is some price hike. I had around $110 in my head. Not sure if the extra will cover any savings we might get from having a PAP and, as we're only planning to spend one day at each park in the next 12 months, I doubt we will renew :confused3

The problem with not renewing is the big price hit you take if you have to start over. I wonder what the regular PAP rate is going to be if the renewal took such a big jump?

According to the website, a new PAP is $219.99 + tax.

Methinks it is a very good time to stock up on the $99 tickets!!!

totally agree with damo!!

in fact, already bought those $99 passes back in november.

i get a better room discount with the AAA.
since the PAP discount went from 20% to 10% (couple years back) for the food and merch discount, it is the same discount given for the AAA holders.

the hhn tickets is one place where i do get a discount w/ap.

my days are numbered for how much longer i will be renewing my ap..

the deals aren't as keen for me with this big hike for their renewal.

i stopped renewing my disney ap once the renewal rate went over $400 each year.

I'm going to have to seriously reconsider renewing mine as well :(

I have AAA membership as well now & have already booked my night at RPR at a good price without AP discount. Will have to do a bit more research into the AAA discounts I think

Our last two AP discounts have been considerably lower than the other discounts. I, too, am going to keep a good eye on them for the next little bit and weigh my options.

That almost seems lower than what they were. I know the two I got for my kids were $40+change a month on the flex pay, so they couldn't have gone up.

BTW, how do you get them to stop charging you and simply renew at the lower rate once the first 12 months are up? Is it difficult?
