Renewed my ap online do I really need to redeem at ticket window?

O I renewed my ap online, and got an e certificate, that says I need to redeem it at a ticket window. But it appears on mde already, and I had/got to order another mb, which shipped today. The question is will I really have to go to the ticket window, or will my magic band just work? This is my first renewal, thanks for the help.

I have a follow up question as I am a first time renewal AP in late July:

If we get an e-Cert to turn in at the window, does that mean that my 365 days does not start until I turn in the e-Cert? Or does it start on the day I renew?

Could I have a renewal date of late July every year but since I didn't turn in my e-Cert for this year until, say Feb 2015 my current AP would not expire until Feb 2016? Thanks

No ticket window visit necessary. Carry on as your normally would. Very easy process!

When you renew your AP the expiration date stays the same, even if you renewed in July and you didn't go again until Feb the next year.

Be sure to pick up your new AP card at any ticket booth or Guest Relations after you arrive at WDW.

That card is still used for other AP "perks" even though your MagicBand works at the park gates and for FP+.

In the box with your MB there's a card that you use for your AP perks and parking. Our original ones were black and the new one we just got is orange. We haven't used our AP hard tickets since getting the MB and the card that comes with the MB.

Yeah I got MB for AP with yellow card that expired 5/23/14 boy Disney is a mess. so guess with renewal I will have to still hit the window and wait online. but will tickets?MB still work at gate to get in or am I going to have to hold everyone up will we get them added to bands. We are going with DD and family and MB are on the way? oh these are ANOTHER set of MB lets see I will now have 10?

Yes you will need to go to a guest relations window. You will want to get the actual hard copy AP card with the new expiration date in order to get the free parking and discounts you are entitled to as an AP holder.

If you don't go to the window, you won't get the hard copy of your card and you'll miss out on discounts.

I just renewed mine a week ago and that's how I discovered this.

Yeah my card expired on the wrong day too. They actually sent me a new one with the correct expiration date.

Will they be sending new MB when you renew your AP or just new discount cards?

Go to the ticket booth.

If for no other reason than it is never a bad thing to have a hard-copy backup with the very
sad state of Disney computer glitches.

For the APs, you order (another) Magic Band. They also send another AP card, and the AP slider. But those last 2 items are quite hidden in the box! I almost missed them, and tossed them.

I do not save those boxes, I have 6 Magic Bands already due to split stays.
