Renew AP ... New expiration?

Our APs expire October 1, 2017 and we renewed at the end of August. The app and website are not showing our new expiration yet, is this normal? We also bought Max Pass and that is not showing. Should I be worried, we paid the whole thing in full with Gift Cards.

Your renewal date doesn't change when you renew. Unless you're talking about the 13th month. I also don't believe MaxPass will show until the new year starts.
 
Last year I renewed our signature plus APs about one month before their expiration date. I downgraded at the time of renewal. Within hours the app showed my AP as a signature AP with the new expiration date of 2017. Disney makes downgrades effective immediately but not upgrades. I'm guessing that even if you renewed at the same level pass, since you added MaxPass it codes as an upgrade and it's not going to show you your new expiration and MaxPass benefits until they are actually in effect, the day after your pass renewal date.

I do have a question for my own curiosity. Did you renew online and were able to add Maxpass, or did you renew in person?

We Renewed in person, and paid in full with Gift Cards, which is why I'm so nervous about it. I asked my husband to call and check...we will see what they say.

I hate this policy and am curious how it's legal since the original contract is for the full 12 months (or 13, currently). This happened when I switched from Premium to Deluxe (back before Signature existed) and I lost parking weeks early. They would refund it each time if I took the reciept, but it was a time-consuming and annoying hassle since I paid for a pass that had parking included! Not to mention the discount changed...

I'm genuinely curious how they get away with doing this.

Yes, I have had the exact same thoughts and still feel irritated by this policy even though in my particular downgrade case it didn't make any material difference to me.
