Well..................
today is january 11th............it officially starts my new year! I say this because, I just got back form WDW last night and finished that darn 1/2 marathon in 3:01:30.

Today I am beginning a new year and need to get back on track. I lost a total of about 63 pounds but gained back about 10-13....... I noticed this when I got to WDW and pack my summer clothess that just did not fit like they did last summer. After meeting my WISH buddies and going through it all........ I decided that my focus has been too much on the marathona nd not enough on my eating habits, I think I became very comfortable losing that weight and began to think that the work was over!

so like I did last year on january first I am going to begin to journal all my food so that I may see where things go wrong as well as when and where my weakness' are. Reporting I think may also help me not to mess up.......

Like last year another goal I would like to to quit smoking.
I went through a strange moment this past week.
I woke up for the marathon and began to worry ( yes actually worry) that I ewill not be able to smoke for a few hours. OUCH! I hate to be pressure that way and have anything in my life restrict me! As I left my hotel room, I had a ciagrette lit and saw some other marathoners walk my way behind and in front of me. I was so embarassed. I mean I normally dont care what other think but in this case, I guess that was a good feeling. I quickly put it out.
I had another cigarette and lighter in my fanny pack for once the race was over! Unbelievable huh! when I was done I didnt even want to smoke or actually I should say I did but how would that look! Turns out I realized on the trip home yesterday, that I only smoked one pack in two days! What I mean is I usually smoke about a pack a day!
I bought a pack at WDW satuirday evening and just finished it last night. Well with the marathon and the drove home which I cant smoke in the car. I managed........
unfortuanetly this morning I opened a new pack and have already smoked about half of it........ thanks to those darn good carolina prices, I bought a carton on the way home.
anyWHO......... smoking has got to go this year.........
I am going to try and wean myself to ten a day once I am comfortable with that, I will try something more drastic........
so far its 1:30 I have not eaten becuase I am too busy unpacking and getting back to reality!
I will post this evenign and try my very hardest to post every evening!

You can do it!!!!! You can kick the habit I know you can :cheer2:

I was a pack a day smoker. I quit in 1989. The good news is: the cravings WILL go away, I promise. It may take along time but they will go away.

Glad to see a new journal on the horizon :flower1:

Once again, congrats on the great marathon time and completion!!!

Renee, it was so wonderful to meet you in "real life" on Saturday evening! Your little guy is adorable - a keeper for sure!

I'm so glad you're coming back to the Journal board! I missed you!

Now about that smoking habit....
When you're at home, I bet you just light up out of habit at certain points during your day. If you think about it, you can probably identify those times, like right after breakfast or after dinner, etc. It was easier to smoke less at Disney because you weren't doing your regular routine in a familiar place like home. Now that you're back in that routine, you'll miss those cigarettes. Try replacing one cigarette a day with a new habit. Then move on to replace another cigarette with another new habit. You can do it!! Just start slowly, one cigarette at a time.

Welcome Back!

If you could lose 63 pounds and keep most, if not all of it off, you can quit smoking. I know it's going to be tough, but you sound like a strong willed woman and I bet you can do it. My neighbor is also quitting and he's taking one day at a time. Have plenty of low calorie snack available for when you need them, they say that's when you gain weight.

Food not a good day.........
I am just so overwhelmed with housework etc........
I just didnt eat much period!
I had nothingb ut water till about 5:30 then ate two very small burgers w/cheese pickles,onions and a small amount of ketchup! I snuck about 5 fries in but seriously forgot! then I stopped.........hard to get back into a groove when I have been eating whatever I want since august.
I had small salad......and a diet coke.
I was going to eat a LC ice cream bar but Ill save that for tomorrow..... I am just so tired!

I did go food shopping today and have bought all my old kinds of food ( LC ). So whether or not I like it, Ill eat it! can;t waste it! I plan on making some artichoke and spinach dip and some chicken quesidillas on LC wraps. I bought some cold cuts and plan on making some LC pizza.
I am craving some cheese cake so Ill get back on LC friends and find that great recipe this week............

Hi all..........gotta post quick, I have been on this board all day posting about the marathon, I havent gotten anything done!

BK: about 12 had a egg bacon and cheese sandwich on LC bread.......
Snack 2 pieces of LC hershey candy!
Dinner: 1/2 a LC tortilla with artichoke spinach dip and a cx quesadilla on LC wrap..... along with a salad with LC dressing........
Drank about 125 oz of water and 2 huge cups of decaff.

Its late now, I think I will have that LC ice cream I have been waiting for all day!

No excersie yet, my feet still hurt.......
I will begin that in a few days.

overall, a good day!

Hi! had to be another fast post, go to get to bed! Or I'll eat!

I kind screwed up just alittle.
But here goes..........

BK: two eggs bacon and a slice of LC toast.
The other slice I had with cream cheese and sugar free jelly.

No time for lunch! Not intended.

Dinner: a cheesburger with onions pickles and mayo and a dot of ketchup ( habit) and a salad with a diet peach snapple.

Now for the screw up! I had two bit size famous amos cookies! Ouch it was like instinct!
Not that bad but I relaly was tiring to screw up in the slightess.
Anyway, its now 10:30 and gonna watch a little tv and go to bed, I am contemplating a LC ice cream bar but I probably won't cause of the cookie incident! lol.
I may howver have a LC wrap with some artichoke and spinach dip!

Hi Renee... Seems that you are off to a great "re" start! Good luck!! And as far as the smoking goes... you can do that also... really!! I have been there like you... and I am now smoke free since Christmas Eve 1997. It is a difficult thing to do.. but if you can lose the weight.. you can kick that habit! Takes the same determination which you seem to have!

You are already a success, losing 63 pounds and keeping 50+ of it off is fantastic. I have no doubt you will take off the small amount that you gained!

thanks you guys but, I am almost ashamed to post yesterday's meals.
Urgggggg.
see the thing is hubby is home form work for a few days and I am completely, out of sync! ARRRRRRG!
I hate to rationalize but we need excuses ! lol
Anyway, I had eggs bacon and LC for BK
Lunch I had a LC wrap with hame and cheese
then it happend!!!!!!!
the famous amos cookies were challenging me. I gave in.
Had a small bag ( snack size bag)
I said ok I wont let this get in down............
while my family ate hot dogs and fries, I had a hot dog on a LC wrap and some spinach dip.
The when no one was around...............
OMG! I had a bowl of lucky charms OK two bowls.
Late night the " I already meesed up came into my mind" and had yet another bag of cookies..........
So upset by this, I drank one more bottle of water and hit the sheets before I did anymore damage.




Today is a new day. I ate my usually BK.........
eggs bacon and LC bread.so far I have had 2 bootles (24oz) each of water..........I think after I post I will go to curves, I am no longer a member but they have since moved to a larger facility and I ran into the owner, she invited me back to try it out again.

SO I am off.................

Renee, you are really starting to get some of your healthy habits back! The amount of water you drink is AMAZING!! I struggle to get 64 oz in a day!

I'm discovering that on days when I follow my usual routine, it's much easier to stay on plan. Weekends are TOUGH! Maybe a routine would help you too? Seems like you have a breakfast routine down - good for you! ::yes::

SO! i went back to curves........I really do like them there. It turns out according to their scale I weigh 162! OUCH!
My scale says 156. so I think I may rejoin.not sure yet however............
doe, you are absolutely right! I am a routine person and when that gets messed up, I mess up!

Renee, to adjust your ticker, you have to go back to the site and redo it with the new weight. Sounds like a pain, but it only takes a couple times until you can do it really fast.

Not sure how many are thinking of the Philly half. Registration doesn't even open for quite a few months, so we have lots of time to think about it. I'll keep you informed!

Good for you for making it to Curves!!!

Renees new ay is not going well.............
here goes...........wow I feel foolish even posting today but I swore to no matter what ANd I am............


started out good, I had no bk cause I woke up and had to get going. Had to help a friend out with her son's BD party.
THE MOVIES!!!!!AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

not the movies......... I got past it! had no popcorn, nothing but water and a coffee!
Can't believe I got through that. We headed over to her house and then she got pizza. Before I got there, I bought wings from kfc. I asked the girl if they were breaded and she says NO! WRONG!
I wrestled with the breading and ended up with a total of maybe one big wing. SO I went to for pizza. Ate one slice then ate the cheese off of another. Then the cake came out............ you have to understand it was now 4 oclock, I was starving! SO I had a slither.........really it was thin.
I get home still hungry and hubby has made brownies!
O MY! had one brownie with ice cream and to my surpise he also made cookies...............
jesus~! I screwed up big time............
had one meal and all junk! I swear to eat nothing else tonight and try and begin once again tomorrow..........
I really need to stop rationalizing!
I tell myslef "well I only had one meal all day the brownie will take the place of two" the thing is that the brownie has about 3/4 days worth of carbs!

ARGGGGGGGGGGGG!
screwed up but at least I can come here and be honest!

Okay now take a deep breath and go back and reread your post. The cards were stacked against you my friend! Even when you tried to plan a low carb meal it backfired on you. We've all had it happen to us - the best thing to do is wake up this morning drink some water, get in a good workout, and shrug it off. One day is not going to ruin the week or the month or the year. Have you made any decisions about Curves?
