Renaissance World Gate

Good hotel in a nice location...

Very easy to get on Priceline... E-Mail me if you want some info.

I got it from a Priceline trip for our trip last October. For $35 a night we had no complaints and we will probably use Priceline again for this year's trip and hope for the WorldGate. We loved the fridge and in-room coffee pot (we hate Disney coffee!) The location was good, the room was clean, and the people were friendly. Not a great place if you plan on spending a bunch of time at the "resort", but if you're just there to sleep, it's great.

Stayed there twice through Priceline for about $35/night which is a great deal! The hotel was nice and clean, had Bath & Body Works products in the bathroom, 2 pools and a workout room-- we didn't try the restaurant. There is supposed to be a back road route to Disney property, Sherberth (sp?)Road I believe, but we didn't try it-- you may want to find out more about that. Overall it was a nice place and I'd recommend it.

Excellent location, practical, logistical. For $35 rate, Top Ten Deals for offsite. Been there, going back. :D

Can't go wrong for the price you get it on Priceline. Was there last Sept. and got it again on PL for this October. The back way to WDW is great. They give you the directions at the front desk when you check in, if you ask for them. We used it all the time. Beats bucking the traffic on 192. Going price on PL seems to be $35 a night + tax and fee. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

OK, now I'm really upset. I am a rooky at Priceline but decided to use them for a late night arrival stay before we checked into the Boardwalk in December. I set my price at $72 for a three star hotel when the four star bid was denied. So how did you get it for $35?

JoEllen, it looks like you ended up overbidding by lowering your star level. It's also really early to be bidding for December dates.

You should go to www.biddingfortravel.com and study (you really do have to print it out and read it ten times to understand...) the FAQ that is posted there about Priceline bidding. Once you *think* you understand it, you can post on the board there and ask for help and you can get suggestions about where to start your bidding and how to proceed.

Good luck in the future, and don't give up on Priceline - I haven't booked a hotel room through regular methods in over a year and I've had nothing but good experiences.

Thank you Candaceg for the info. I wish I had read the website first! Very good info to print out and keep.

I am new to priceline also. I was hoping to get Renaissance resort world for trip 6/29-7/5 and planned on starting my bid at $35.00. I noticed they have two areas for Disney - which would this resort be listed under Disney westside or the one that is disney vacinity?

It would be listed under 3* under WDW vicinity. I have been researching priceline for about a month now trying to decide what to do. I am pretty certain you can get this hotel for $35 per nite for the dates you want. If it doesn't accept your bid for $35, try going up a few dollars on the price & adding a free bid. Which could be either Kissimmee, Florida Mall. There's a couple more that do not have 3* hotels in their area. But I really think you will get it on your first try for $35 a nite. Either this one or the Grosvenor.

I have also been seeing the Hyatt in WDW vicinity coming up alot for $35.
